CIVIL ENGINEER

This is a developmental position. This position can be filled at GS-07, GS-09, GS-11, or GS-12. All training and regulatoryrequirements must be met prior to promotion. Full Performance Level (GS-12) The primary purpose is to: To serve as a professional Civil Engineer performing operations and maintenance (O&M) engineering duties in support of a military installation. Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information.GS-07 Uses prescribed methods to perform specific, and limited work assignments that are normally minor phases of a broader assignment of a higher-grade engineer. Uses computers/computer software such as information management programs, computer aided design and drafting (CADD) programs, and project tracking programs to assist higher grade engineers in solving engineering problems and facilitate the work. GS-09 Participates in the performance of O&M engineering involving design and construction that encompasses the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operations of infrastructure facilities, including utility systems, utilizing as professional knowledge of engineering Provides civil engineering support to trades and crafts shops GS-11 Monitors and manages projects for new construction, renovations, and improvements to real property facilities and maintains surveillance over construction contractors utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering and knowledge of other engineering disciplines to ensure overall compliance with contracted specifications, schedules, etc. Assists in planning and design process for new construction, renovations, and improvement projects for real property facilities and utility systems utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment. GS-12 Performs O&M engineering involving design and construction that encompasses the maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of infrastructure facilities, including utility systems, utilizing professional knowledge of civil engineering. Plans, programs, budgets, and executes required projects in support of assigned programs. Performs planning and design work for substantial sustainment, modernization, repair, improvement, renovations and construction projects for real property facilities, including utility systems, utilizing a professional knowledge of civil engineering.
