U.S. Army Corps of EngineersAbout the Position: To serve as a general Structural Engineer and Project Engineer. As Structural Engineer,responsibilities shall include the design and technical review of structural systems related to Civil Works and Military projects as assigned. As Project Engineer, provides leadership and serves as the principle point of contact for design teams within the Engineering Division for assigned projects or at assigned installations from design startup through construction.Structural Engineer performs blast analysis in accordance with
UFC 4-010-01
DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings and progressive collapse analysis in accordance with
UFC 4-023-03
Design of Buildings to Resist Progressive Collapse.Conducts site investigations to obtain data for initiating in-house design projects and participates in initial design conferences on A-E design projects, as required, in order to clarify or evaluate all pertinent factors that are applicable.Conducts site investigations to evaluate existing structures (such as bridges, dams, levees, etc.) in order to comply with routine inspection schedules for USACE owned civil works facilities.Coordinates the planning and design work among multi-discipline teams of engineers, architects, interior designers and other professionals for a wide variety of project designs, unique one-time projects, and improvements to existing projects.Manages budgets/schedules for engineering services; executing design project/services; the production of studies, design reports, design memorandums, plans and specifications, and ensuring that the design/service satisfies the customer's objectives.
