Incumbent serves as the district subject matter expert on civil works structural analysis and design projects and the Hydraulic Steel Structures (HSS) program.Inspects and recommends repairs for Hydraulic Steel Structures.Serves as the appointed HSS Engineer for the Operations Phase.Develop technical design criteria and design procedures for highly specialized, complex, and state-of-the-art structural features.Study and analyze data acquired from site visits and makes written or oral reports of findings with recommendations where appropriate.Perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of design, plans, specifications and design analyses prepared by others for sufficiency, practicability and compliance with designrequirements and established policies.Draft Design Memoranda or other reports covering structural design for civil works projects with full justification of all data compiled in connection with the reports.Participate in conferences with representatives of the Using Service and higher authority for the purpose of determining applicable design criteria for proposed construction and for review and evaluation of completed construction.
