Job Overview
TE Connectivity’s R&D/ Product Development Engineering Teams drive the creation of new products and manage them from initial concept through all development stages - including market definition, design, testing, prototyping, supplier qualification, production ramp‑up, and final release.
They create all required product documentation, including digital models, simulations, 2D/3D drawings, specifications, and test requirements, and adapt designs to improve manufacturability and product quality.
Their expertise includes materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and the manufacturing and integration of electrical, mechanical, and electronic components.
Job Requirements
- Own system architecture for Force Guided Relais and General-Purpose Relays used in industrial applications
- Engage and visit global customers to understand system behavior, modularization levels, and evolving technology needs
- Combine Technology- and Application-expertise to generate system architecture requirements
- Ensure technology and product roadmaps align with customer next‑generation products and short-/long-term technology and market trends (3-5 years)
- Analyze and weigh primary drivers of TE’s product and technology gaps and predict the optimal technical solutions
- Participate and drive standardization activities and help influence industry trends to align with TE’s strategy
- Develop application whitepapers to support internal teams and customer understanding
- Provide technical input to the Technology Radar, Product outlooks/ roadmaps and PRDs
- Lead competitive benchmarking and evaluate new product concepts
What your background should look like
- Engineering degree (BSc/ MSc) with 10+ years of relevant experience; MBA or dual business degree is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in system design within the product-line and/ or component-supplier industry
- Solid system design experience with Force-Guided Relays and General‑Purpose Relays across multiple engineering disciplines
- Knowledge on relevant standards (IEC 61810-1, IEC 61810-3 or the Predecessor EN 50205, IEC 60947-5-1, UL61810, IEC 60664-1, IEC 60335-1), TÜV requirements for Force-guided Relays
- Expertise in Functional Safety and Safety Integrity concepts by understanding ISO 13849-1 and IEC 62061 as well as understanding machine
