This team builds the extensible foundations and developer-facing capabilities that help customers, partners, and developers ensure Asana can meet their specific needs. We’re looking for a hands-on, technically strong Engineering Manager who thrives in ambiguity, cares deeply about developer experience, and can help a high-performing team ship high-quality products at the intersection of integrations, platform, and AI.
This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. What you’ll achieve
- Manage and coach 6–8 engineers, fostering an inclusive culture and establishing team rituals that drive both excellence and professional growth.
- Servant leader who smooths the road for teams to execute
- Partner with product, design, professional services and UXR to translate customer pain points into a reliable technical MVP and a scalable architectural roadmap.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to balance large-scale feature launches with iterative, daily product enhancements.
- Guide the articulation and execution of the team’s work and ensure the team’s work ties back into high-level business goals
- Use your curiosity and technical taste to maintain a high bar for quality and experience on the part of the team.
About you
- Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
- 6+ years of relevant experience with leadership experience (either managing or a technical lead), and a demonstrated track record of growing engineers across levels
- Earns trust quickly — bringing the intelligence, empathy, and technical depth to go deep on architecture, flows, and tradeoffs alongside a sharp engineering team.
- Has worked on platforms before. SDKs, APIs, developer tooling, or frameworks experience are all relevant.
