This position is located in the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), Field Organization, Plains Area (PA), National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF), Manhattan, KS. In this position, the incumbent will serve as the Engineering Technician responsible for supervising, managing and ensuring the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) using Maximo software are in constant optimal operational condition.Serves as a technical advisor to planners, supervisors, worker-in-charge, Facilities Director, and Chief Facilities Engineer in the functions and data contained in CMMS.Administers the work order system that schedules and controls the activities of maintenance crews, and assures materials, part, tools, supplies, equipment and required workers are scheduled and available.Works closely with other NBAF units and serves as the main communication contact with all the NBAF facilities groups, project managers, operations managers, and the acquisitions units.Provides technical support to contractors and field personnel on such matters as determining any CMMS (MAXIMO software) discrepancies that interfere with administration of contracts or planning documents, repairs, and maintenance work.Analyzes CMMS data for trends that might indicate needed maintenance.Monitors receipt of and ensures proper distribution of construction and operations contract information, repairs, maintenance, and operations planning and performance documentation as it pertains to the MAXIMO CMMS.Utilizes CMMS (MAXIMO software) to provide systems control and oversight.
