Finance Analyst
AD FinanceAlexander Daniels Finance Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a Finance Analyst. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their analytical, commercial and operational finance skills within a fast-paced environment.
Working closely with senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business decision-making, enhancing financial processes, and overseeing stock and operational reporting across multiple business units. This position offers exposure to a variety of finance and business improvement projects, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working beyond traditional accounting responsibilities.
Please note this is an office-based role.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain stock-related financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity of information.
- Develop and deliver key performance reports, identifying trends and providing insight to support business performance.
- Analyse operational processes and contribute to initiatives designed to improve efficiency, controls and profitability.
- Partner with stakeholders across various departments to enhance reporting processes and strengthen internal controls.
- Support cross-functional and finance-led projects, taking ownership of specific workstreams where appropriate.
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insight to assist operational teams in making informed decisions.
- Coordinate and assist with stock count exercises and audit-related activities.
- Process overseas supplier invoices and support treasury-related tasks.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and currencies.
- Assist with month-end reporting, management accounts preparation and wider finance activities as required.
- Prepare indirect tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant reporting deadlines.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and support the implementation of enhanced financial controls and workflows.
- Provide support across transactional finance functions when required.
- Contribute to team objectives and provide cover during periods of absence.
About You
- Previous experience in a Finance Analyst, Assistant Management Accountant, Commercial Finance, or similar analytical finance role.
- Currently studying towards, or interested in pursuing, a professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Strong Excel capabilities, including data analysis, formulas, lookups and pivot tables.
- Experience using accounting or ERP systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
