U.S. Army Joint Munitions CommandThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base Facilities and the Major Range and Test Facilities Base Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position applies engineering knowledge for multiple disciplines to plan, design, construct, operate, and sustain facilities and infrastructure.This is a developmental position being filled at the GS-07/09 with target GS- levels. Duties are performed under closer than normal supervision. The full performance GS-12 level of this position entails the following dutiesProvide technical guidance to engineers and support staff developing advanced process technology, equipment, and control methods for demilitarizing conventional ammunition, tactical missiles, and strategic rocket motors.Apply and adapt engineering theories, practices and precedents to solve problems related to the demilitarization of munition items.Responsible for the transfer and integration of newly demonstrated munitions demilitarization technologies into the organic base.Plan, prepare, and execute technology engineering projects and related studies to establish new or improved procedural techniques.
