We are recruiting for an IAM Business Analyst to join a growing Microsoft-focused technology consultancy on an initial six-month fixed-term contract.
There is a strong possibility that the role could become permanent as the business continues to grow, although this cannot be guaranteed.
This role will focus on helping clients improve how user access is requested, approved, granted, reviewed and removed.

A key part of the position will be reviewing Joiners, Movers and Leavers processes, identifying manual or inefficient ways of working and helping to define opportunities for greater automation through Microsoft Entra.
You may already be working as an IAM Business Analyst, or you could be an IAM Analyst, Identity Analyst or Access Management Analyst with strong process, stakeholder and documentation skills who is ready to take the next step.
You do not need to be a Microsoft Entra engineer. However, you will need a good understanding of IAM principles and enough technical awareness to work confidently with clients, architects and technical consultants.
What You Will Be Doing
You will support IAM projects from discovery and requirements gathering through to testing, implementation and handover.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Running discovery sessions and requirements workshops with clients
- Reviewing existing Joiners, Movers and Leavers processes
- Understanding how access is currently requested, approved, provisioned and removed
- Identifying manual processes, control gaps and opportunities for automation
- Documenting current-state and future-state identity processes
- Gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Producing process maps, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Supporting the design of improved access request and approval workflows
- Helping define role-based access controls and access models
- Supporting provisioning and deprovisioning process improvements
- Working with architects and technical consultants to translate requirements into practical solutions
- Supporting access reviews and identity governance activities
- Managing actions, decisions, risks and project documentation
- Supporting User Acceptance Testing
- Presenting findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Helping clients prepare for changes to processes, systems and responsibilities
- Contributing to internal templates and delivery methods
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone with experience in Business Analysis, Identity and Access Management, cyber security or a closely related area.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience gathering and documenting requirements
- An understanding of Identity and Access Management principles
- Knowledge of Joiners, Movers and Leavers processes
- Experience reviewing user access, approval or account-management processes
- An understanding of access control and least privilege
- Experience identifying process improvements or opportunities for automation
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills
- The ability to understand complex processes and explain them clearly
- Experience producing process maps, user stories or acceptance criteria
- Strong written documentation skills
- The confidence to ask detailed questions and challenge existing ways of working
- The ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong organisation skills
- The confidence to work independently within a remote environment
Microsoft Identity Knowledge
You do not need to be a Microsoft Entra specialist, but some knowledge or exposure to Microsoft identity technologies would be useful.
This could include:
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Azure Active Directory
- Microsoft Entra ID Governance
- Joiners, Movers and Leavers automation
- Identity lifecycle management
- Lifecycle Workflows
- Provisioning and deprovisioning

You do not need experience across all of these areas.
Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart or Azure DevOps would also be useful.
The Person
This is a consultancy environment, so your communication and approach will be just as important as your technical knowledge.
You are likely to be someone who:

You will work closely with experienced architects and technical consultants, giving you the opportunity to strengthen your identity knowledge while continuing to develop your Business Analysis, stakeholder and consultancy skills.
Although the role is initially offered as a six-month fixed-term contract, there is a strong possibility of it developing into a permanent opportunity as the business continues to grow..
