In this Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals. Typical work assignments include: Ensuring the rigorous application of information technology policies, standards and guidelines, security/information assurance policies, principles and practices in the delivery of all IT services. Reviewing and interpreting policies, procedures, and strategies that govern the planning, design, delivery and support of application software solutions leveraging the latest application development methodologies, processes/standards and best practices. Coordinating with business owners, internal and external stakeholders, as well as the application development team to interpret, compose, validate, and translate functional (i.e., business)requirements into technicalrequirements in order to develop new and innovative methods for software design, testing, and implementation. Providing technical guidance in planning, designing, developing/configuring, testing, debugging, and maintaining various programs, and identifying schedule, resource and cost considerations for programs.
