This position is part of the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence, Department of Energy. As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (CYBERMGT), you will oversee the coordination and integration of enterprise cybersecurity tools, technologies, and capabilities across DOE-IN environments and maintain enterprise cybersecurity situational awareness from a tools and capability perspective. Ensure systems are integrated into enterprise cybersecurity tools.The Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence office works to identify and mitigate threats to US national security and the DOE Enterprise and informs national security decision-making. The DOE-IN advises policymakers on threats to and opportunities for US national security in nuclear, energy, cyber and a number of science and technology (S&T) fields. This is an Excepted Service position. This appointment will not confer Competitive Service career-conditional or career tenure status. This means that if you are selected, you would have to compete with other applicants in open competition to meetrequirements for another Federal position, unless you meet therequirements for reinstatement. Applicants who voluntarily convert from the competitive service, Senior Executive Service, or other pay systems to a non-time limited appointment under this excepted service authority are not afforded "fallback rights" to the pay system previously assigned prior to conversion. As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (CYBERMGT), you will: As the Cyber Operations Manager you will oversee the coordination and integration of enterprise cybersecurity tools, technologies, and capabilities across DOE-IN environments. As the Cyber Operations Manager you will maintain enterprise cybersecurity situational awareness from a tools and capability perspective. Ensure systems are integrated into enterprise cybersecurity tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, Next-Gen Firewall. Provide expert technical advice, authoritative guidance, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, external federal partners, and stakeholders on high-impact cybersecurity initiatives. Direct ongoing system reviews, vulnerability assessments, and threat-mitigation planning to maintain operational continuity and optimize total infrastructure protection. Lead the evaluation, acquisition, and allocation of strategic IT resources using Agile and system engineering methodologies to solve highly complex, unprecedented technical issues.
