The incumbent serves as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for DMEA, performing reviews and identifying gaps in the DMEA cybersecurity architecture to develop solutions to accomplish cybersecurity program goals.This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021. As a IT Cybersecurity Specialist (INFOSEC) at the NH-2210-2/3 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for DMEA. Performs reviews and identifies gaps in the DMEA cybersecurity architecture and develops solutions to accomplish cybersecurity program goals. Ensures cybersecurity-enabled products or other compensating security control technologies reduce any identified risks to an acceptable level. Develops plans and techniques to address new threats and improve the overall cybersecurity program and policies. Advises leaders and Authorizing Officials of changes affecting the organization's cybersecurity posture. Participates in risk governance processes to provide security risks, mitigations, and inputs on other technical risks. Performs cyber defense incident triage, to include determining scope, urgency, and potential impact; identifies the specific vulnerability; and makes recommendations that enable expeditious remediation.
