ABOUT THE TEAM
As a Lead Product Manager for our global payment services, you will drive the strategy and execution for core banking payments across India, the UK, and Europe.
You’re an experienced Product Manager with a broad, highly technical skill set—driven, analytical, and strategic, with a passion for using technology to deliver world-class payment products, rails, and ledger experiences for our businesses. You are deeply committed to your customers and understand the critical nature of moving money safely, quickly, and transparently.
In this role, you will be responsible for building and scaling the core banking platform that enables SMEs to seamlessly send, receive, clear, and reconcile money globally. Your mission is to create a frictionless, resilient financial experience, ensuring robust funds flow, ledger precision, and cutting-edge payment capabilities (including real-time rails and Open Banking) that empower small businesses to grow with confidence.
You’ll work hand-in-hand with senior leaders, backend engineers, data scientists, compliance officers, and risk experts to architect, build, and optimize our payment core.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lead Product Manager, you’ll:
- Drive Payment Strategy: Develop, drive, and execute the end-to-end product vision for banking payments (covering local/international rails, multi-currency accounts, and local IBANs) aligned with global business objectives.
- Execute Technical Delivery: Lead cross-functional, agile teams through the entire product development lifecycle-mapping transaction lifecycles, writing technical specifications, and managing database isolation levels, event-driven architecture, and API design.
- Own the Core Infrastructure: Lead discovery and solution design for money-movement controls, clearing, settlement, financial ledgers, and safeguarding/reconciliation mechanics.
- Leverage the Ecosystem: Engage deeply with the wider banking and fintech ecosystem (including Central Banks, clearing houses, BaaS partners, and Open Banking infrastructure like VRP) to identify next-generation payment opportunities.
- Ensure Regulatory & Risk Compliance: Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure all payment features adhere strictly to FCA/PRA, EMI, and local central bank regulatory guidelines, proactively mitigating fraud and transaction risks.
- Commercialize Payment Features: Optimize revenue drivers across the payment flywheel (interchange, FX markups, premium payment features, and data enrichment) while collaborating with Finance on quarterly forecasting.
- Prioritize via Data: Define and track product KPIs and OKRs (activation, transaction velocity, liquidity/deposits, exception rates, and processing costs) to drive continuous optimization. &l
