The ideal candidate will create, draft, and design product layouts and schemes using customer specification and recommendations.This individual will test products and make adjustments where necessary. Additionally, they will examine broken products and resolve issues for future designs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled professional with a minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical building services design, to take a leading role in delivering complex, technically challenging projects from concept through to completion.
You will work closely with engineers, project managers, clients, and site teams to develop efficient, compliant, and high-quality mechanical design solutions.
About the Client
Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-end commercial & residential projects across London. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed mechanical building services designs from concept through to construction.
- Prepare technical drawings, calculations, specifications, and design documentation.
- Coordinate mechanical services with multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, British Standards, and client requirements.
- Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including resolving design and installation issues.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure smooth and successful project delivery.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years' of industry experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical parts and computer-aided design

- Air conditioning and environmental control systems

- Associated controls cabling

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in mechanical building services design.
- Strong experience delivering commercial and high-end residential building services projects.
- Excellent technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and associated mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of current regulations, British Standards, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to coordinate complex designs within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive and detail-focused approach to design delivery.

- Salary of £60,000 - £90,000 per annum, depending on experience.
