
Mechanical Engineer
Army Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM)About the Position: Sierra Army Depot is located in Herlong CA, a rural town in Northern California. Herlong is approximately 60 miles north of Reno, NV, and 35 miles south of Susanville, CA. The depot serves as an Army Expeditionary Logistical Support Center. Employees work Mon Thurs, 0630-1700 hrs. Youth Facilities and childcare available. Mass transportation is available at minimal cost. Surrounding area boasts a full range of outdoor sports and recreation activities.Performs complex engineering duties associated with the conception, design, redesign or modification of equipment, fixtures and/or tooling to support depot mission programs.Demonstrates, trains, and releases equipment to operating shop personnel.Participates with operating managers and staff personnel in the planning of short and long range goals.Develops plans, procedures, and criteria for designs, equipment, and manufacturing processes.Develops detailed economic analysis to support/justify the purchase of complex equipment.
