You will serve as the technical representative on the contractor's design/build teams for mechanical systems.You will facilitate the identification and mitigation of design, construction and program process risks, while monitoring team progress in achieving timely product delivery.You will review letters/reports and prepare technical comments and recommendations on the design, repair, testing, fabrication and operation of submarine mechanical systems and components.You will evaluate and develop technical solutions for government and contractor furnished equipment deviations, waiver requests, and material substitutions for submarine repair.You will review and evaluate equipment qualification tests for technical adequacy and equipment meeting operationrequirements.You will review complex calculations in the analysis of contractor prepared studies involving stress-strain analysis, fatigue analysis, threaded joint analysis, structural stress, and shock/vibration.You will investigate and evaluate emergent design problems recommending solutions.You will provide technical advice to other department personnel on possible approaches and solutions to problems.
