About the Role
We’re looking for a Product and Privacy Counsel to join our Legal team and partner closely with Product, Engineering, Security, Go To Market, and Leadership.
This person will help Supabase ship products faster while managing legal, privacy, regulatory, compliance and open source risk thoughtfully. You’ll work on product counseling, open source licensing, privacy and compliance reviews, product launch guidance, customer facing terms, and internal legal frameworks that help the company scale.
This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys working with technical teams, is comfortable in ambiguity, and can turn complex legal issues into practical business guidance.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Act as primary counsel for product and engineering teams from concept through launch
Advise on legal issues related to product development, data usage, privacy, security, AI, integrations, and APIs
Partner with Engineering and Product on privacy, AI and compliance questions
Build scalable product launch review processes, legal checklists, internal guidance, and playbooks
Own and drive, global privacy, data protection, and AI governance strategy, including regulatory compliance across relevant jurisdictions
Advise on global privacy, regulatory, and compliance considerations related to Supabase products
Support customer and GTM teams on privacy related contract issues, product terms, security and privacy questions, and enterprise risk reviews
Help develop and maintain legal frameworks for AI and data usage, product claims, third party integrations, and partner and customer facing commitments
Partner cross functionally with Security, Finance, Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing and People as Supabase scales
Serve as a key legal voice on cross-functional leadership decisions, including on matters of regulatory risk, privacy posture, and product strategy
