The Specialty Care Program Analyst position is in the Office of the Chief, Medicine Service, at the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center / Station 586 in Jackson, MS. The incumbent serves as the primary coordinator (ADPAC) and Medicine Service program analyst, providing expert leadership in clinical informatics, business process analysis, and performance improvement related to Medicine's use of Vista/CPRS and other clinical and administrative information systems.Majorduties include, but are not limited to: Serves as the principal ADPAC and functional expert for Medicine Service for PIMS, CPRS, and related VistA packages, ensuring that software functionality fully supports Medicine clinical workflows. Ensures compliance with information security, Privacy Act, and cybersecurityrequirements related to system access, menu assignments, terminal and file security, and sensitive clinical data. Develops and maintains Medicine-specific contingency plans for clinical system outages, ensuring that manual backup processes support safe patient care and accurate downstream data entry and workload reporting. Creates and maintains Medicine Service standard operating procedures (SOPs), tip sheets, orientation materials, and SharePoint or other intranet resources to ensure current, easily accessible guidance on clinical informatics workflows. Designs, extracts, aggregates, and analyzes complex datasets related to provider productivity, panel management, clinic access, consult timeliness, inpatient utilization, specialty workload, and other Medicine performance indicators. Plans and leads complex, cross-functional studies and projects to improve Medicine operations, such as redesign of clinic templates, optimization of consult management workflows, or reduction of documentation burden for physicians and residents. Provides expert customer service to physicians, residents, and other Medicine stakeholders, handling complex problems with tact, diplomacy, and a focus on timely resolution.Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
