months.DUTY 1: Performs Career Broadening assignments/duties; provides support, senior-level security expertise, guidance, and direction to the civilian and military work force within DAF directorates, MAJCOMs, numbered Air Forces, wings, or bases as assigned and serves as the DAF representative for related Special Access Management oversight. Incumbent duties require knowledge of multiple security principles to include: SAP and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) policy, SAP security management, personnel security, physical security, industrial security, cybersecurity, foreign disclosure and USEXPORT, OPSEC, COMSEC, and assessing National Interest Determinations (NID). Routinely analyzes and interprets complex DCI, NSA, DoD SAP security policies and Air Force regulations to provide recommendations for safeguarding sensitive information. Incumbent requires written and oral communication skills commensurate with interactions with the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy (OUSD(P)), Intelligence & Security (OUSD(I&S)), Joint Staff SAPCO and other Service Components, government agencies and SAF/AA SAP stakeholders. Represents the directorate at senior level OSD and DAF security oversight briefings. DUTY 2: In a Career Broadening capacity, advises senior Acquisition leaders on complex security concepts and policies related to the execution of Air Force acquisition programs. Designs and synchronizes protection policies within Air Forces' diverse portfolio of programs by developing policies using a multi-layered and multi-disciplined security approach to protect innovative and critical programs and program elements. Through collaboration with sister services and interagency partners, makes policy change recommendations to DAF and Offices of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) through white papers and briefings to improve the planning and implementation of DAF technology protection programs. Governs policy implementation across a large portfolio, and supports organizational maturity through aligning documentation, data collection and analysis, as well as conducting regular benchmarking to support program development. Collaborates with the affiliated science and technology (S&T) and other teams participating in critical technology research and acquisition. Work with the DAF and DoD executive agents for horizontal protection, anti-tamper, and Technology Protection Task Forces to blend the multifaceted approaches to protection to a cohesive, executable requirement for S&T Protection and Research and development Air Force Acquisition.
