
Security Specialist
Washington Headquarters ServicesThis position is located in Washington Headquarters Service (WHS), Security Enterprise Services Directorate (SESD), in the Integrated Security Operations Division (ISOD) and will serve as a Security Specialist responsible for providing WHS security support. ISOD provides security support to senior managers in the Office of the Secretary of War, WHS, The Director of Administration and Management (DA&M) and to DoW, Congressional, and Presidential established boards, commissions, and task forces.As a Security Specialist, GS-0080-13, the incumbent is responsible for executing a broad range of administrative, technical, and operational security functions. In this capacity, typicalduties include, but are not limited to, the following: Implements policies, procedures, and standards across Information, Physical, Personnel, and Industrial Security disciplines to protect classified and sensitive information, property, and facilities from unauthorized disclosure or loss. Serves as an authoritative security spokesperson, providing technical guidance to management and conducting formal securityeducation and training programs for civilian, military, and contractor personnel on safeguarding classified material. Performs annual inspections, facility risk assessments, and sensitive insider threat inquiries; identifies vulnerabilities; and recommends actionable improvements or corrective measures to upgrade security administration. Oversees the proper marking, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified documents; administers personnel access controls; and reviews/validates DD Form 254s and Statements of Work in support of classified contracts. Interprets Executive Orders, DoD directives, and Intelligence Community Directives (ICD) to develop localized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while preparing point papers, strategic plans, and executive briefings on mission protection and operational vulnerabilities for senior leadership.
