Overview
The investment consulting role at Gallagher is both client-facing and technical. As consultants, we have overall responsibility for our client relationships and the investment advice we deliver. To do this we collaborate closely with our specialists across our sustainable investment, asset-liability management, manager research and transition teams.
The majority of client work will focus on UK defined benefit corporate pension schemes, with the opportunity to develop experience across a broader range of institutional clients – including DC pension schemes, Charities, Endowments & Foundations, Insurers, Local Government Pension Schemes and Wealth Managers. We are keen to offer this flexibility to our people so they can develop broad experience and knowledge across different institutional investors.
We provide our Analysts and Senior Analysts with autonomy to contribute to key investment workstreams, as well as providing them with direct client exposure to in-house investment teams and Trustees that represent some of the largest asset owners in the UK and beyond.
This, alongside structured training, business development opportunities, and ongoing guidance from our lead consultants who take a genuine interest in your development, means our junior consultants have the support and opportunities required in order to grow in their careers.
How you'll make an impact
- Work on a portfolio of institutional clients, taking ownership of day-to-day investment workstreams.
- Prepare investment advice papers, collaborating with lead consultants and specialists teams across the business – including our sustainable investment, ALM, manager research and transitions teams.
- Where possible, presenting and meeting with our clients’ in-house investment teams and investment committees.
- Monitor client portfolios, capital markets developments and manager performance, ensuring clients' investment strategies remain fit for purpose.
- Where applicable, support and mentor other junior team members, sharing investment knowledge and helping to build team capability.
