An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Audit Senior to join a highly regarded accountancy firm with a strong reputation for delivering quality advice to a diverse client base. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of clients, complex assignments, and clear progression opportunities.
This position offers a varied workload, combining approximately 80% audit and 20% accounts preparation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of client-facing audit work and technical accounting responsibilities.
The Audit Senior will work closely with managers and partners while supporting the development of junior team members across a varied portfolio of clients operating within the accountancy sector.
What you'll be doingPlanning, leading and delivering audit assignments from start to completion.
Managing audit engagements for a wide-ranging client portfolio, including larger and more complex organisations.
Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
Preparing statutory and consolidated financial statements under FRS102.
Producing draft corporation tax computations.
Identifying audit findings and preparing recommendations for management.
Assisting with group reporting requirements and component audit assignments.
Supporting the preparation of accounts for limited companies, partnerships and LLPs.
Ensuring assignments are delivered to agreed deadlines and budgets.
Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact throughout engagements.
What we're looking forACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification.
At least 2.5 years' experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
Strong audit experience across a variety of client sectors.
Good technical knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards.
Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues.
Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritise effectively.
Familiarity with audit and accounts software packages would be advantageous.
A proactive approach and desire to continue developing within the accountancy profession.
