Senior Engineering Manager

White Raven Resourcing Ltd are acting as a recruitment agency in relation to permanent recruitment services.
Our client is an established engineering organisation operating within the aerospace, defence and industrial sectors. They are seeking a Engineering Manager to join their leadership team, responsible for driving engineering excellence, supporting new business growth, and delivering high-quality product solutions. The role can be based within the clients North Wales or South West facilities however regular travel between both sites would be expected, incorporated into a hybrid working arrangement across a 4 day working week.
This is a key leadership role requiring a collaborative, results-driven professional with strong technical expertise and people management capability.
- Align engineering resources with strategic objectives to support both short- and long-term business goals.
- Lead, develop and manage a high-performing engineering team, including capacity planning, recruitment, coaching, performance management and employee relations.
- Contribute to and lead new business proposals, including bid development, customer relationship management and strategy to secure new contracts.
- Manage new product development programmes from contract award through to introduction into the supply chain, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule and performance targets.
- Oversee in-service engineering support, including issue resolution, failure analysis and concession management.
- Drive technology acquisition and maturation through market analysis, gap identification and strategic planning.
- Establish and maintain performance metrics to monitor the health of key business processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support compliance with relevant certifications, approvals and internal procedures.
Requirements
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 10 years’ engineering experience within aerospace, defence or a similar highly regulated industry.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to deliver results through teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Professional and composed approach when dealing with challenging situations.
- Effective time management and organisational skills.
- Experience with Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
