The Role
Our client is a growing IT Service Provider and they are looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join the team, supporting a wide range of client environments across networking, cloud and core infrastructure technologies.
This is a hands-on technical role with a strong networking focus, ideal for someone who enjoys designing and delivering robust infrastructure solutions while acting as a senior technical point of escalation.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver infrastructure and networking projects across multiple client environments
* Design, implement and support LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN and firewall solutions
* Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and networking issues
* Support infrastructure assessments, technical onboarding activities and solution reviews
* Design, document and maintain network and infrastructure solutions
* Work closely with internal teams to support project delivery and pre-sales technical discussions
* Drive automation, standardisation and continuous service improvements
* Maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams and operational procedures
* Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance client environments and service offerings
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with experience working within an MSP or multi-customer environment, with strong networking expertise alongside broader infrastructure knowledge.
Technical Experience
* Strong understanding of networking technologies including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, WAN, LAN, WLAN, VLAN and VPN
* Hands-on experience with firewall and networking platforms including Fortinet, Cisco Meraki, Sophos, WatchGuard and UniFi
* Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices
* Experience supporting Microsoft infrastructure technologies including Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, MFA and SSO
* Experience supporting cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud
* Virtualisation experience with VMware, Hyper-V or Citrix environments
* Strong troubleshooting, documentation and technical problem-solving skills
* Experience delivering technical projects and infrastructure upgrades
Desirable
* Fortinet certifications (FCA/FCP) or strong Fortinet experience
* CCNA, CCNP, Network+ or equivalent networking certifications
* Experience with network monitoring and management platforms
* Microsoft or cloud-related certifications
* Experience supporting multi-site and multi-customer environments
