
Sr Director Analyst - ERP Technology (Remote - U.S.)

About the role:
Gartner Analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Director possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems and solutions within the market they serve. They use their knowledge to help clients make better decisions, solve complex issues and execute new practices that propel clients’ businesses toward key objectives. A Director publishes these insights as pragmatic and/or provocative research. Additionally, they reinforce Gartner’s value every day by engaging clients via in-person and virtual meetings, sales support visits, Gartner conferences and industry events.
What you will do:
- Deliver impactful insight to guide clients to the best actions for them and their organizations. 40% of your work week will be spent on virtual client calls with a wide variety of companies and governments. On these calls you will answer questions such as – How do we manage custom ERP extensions using platform as a service (PaaS)? or should we adopt a single- or multiple-vendor ERP strategy?
- Research, analyze and predict market trends and shifts (15% of work week). Predict how specific markets are developing, help clients in their selection process and assist vendors in overall positioning
- Apply critical thinking skills to de-construct and reframe challenging client questions. Identify the root cause of a client’s barriers or overall needs and reframe thinking to drive strategy forward
- Use the research insights gained to create high quality, clear, actionable, “must-have” papers, presentations, and videos (30% of your work week). Content is based on research best practices and methodologies
- Deliver insights in virtual and face-to-face client interactions. Deliver presentations at Gartner events, industry and professional association conferences, and client briefings
- Collaborate. Actively participate in research communities to develop and refine ideas. Provide high quality and timely research content peer review. Be able to help your team develop consensus research positions.
- Proactively support internal stakeholders (e.g. Research Engagement Services (RES), Sales and Service) to serve and retain clients and to make progress against their critical priorities to grow their business
- Develop new research and ideas through thought leadership and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client's needs and requests that accelerate the client's ability to act
- Demonstrate thought leadership in establishing research positions across a team of analysts
- Build credibility as a domain or industry expert to represent Gartner research, methodology and strategy
- Be a mentor and a coach to team members.
