Langley Research CenterYou will serve as the Branch Head for the Test Technologies Branch of the Research Directorate at Langley Research Center.Serves as Branch Head responsible for establishing guidelines and monitoring performance expectations with staff members.Establishes measurable and results-oriented short- and long-term organizational goals and objectives based on the strategic objectives for the branch, directorate, and Center.Provides technical and administrative direction to subordinate employees. Obtains project resources, defines technical workrequirements and milestones, evaluates accomplishments, and represents organization and employee work to senior management.Conducts editorial/technical review of research reports, presentations, and other material submitted for publication.Leads workforce planning and appropriate hiring actions to address skills imbalances and succession needs; including activities to ensure well qualified candidates are hired, developed, and promoted.Assists in developing wind-tunnel data products for research and development projects.Performs a full range of supervisory duties which includes assigning and evaluating work; recommending personnel actions; taking disciplinary actions; and identifying training needs and developing employees.
