In this position you will serve as a Supervisor in the IT System Section, Business Operations Branch, Management and Operations Division for the United States Fire Administration. The ideal candidate for this position will has experience as an IT leader skilled in program management, strategic planning, and cross-functional team leadership. Excels in delivering secure, innovative IT solutions aligned with agency mission and priorities.What will I do in this position if hired? In this position, you will be a Supervisory IT Program Manager, serve as a first level supervisor over a staff of Information Technology (IT) Specialists. Typical assignments include: Manages a group of IT specialists who perform duties as an Information Technology (IT) Project Manager for short-term or mid-term data processing projects. Oversees the project management function for Information Technology projects. Exercises technical and administrative supervisory controls that are in keeping with a first level supervisory position. Analyze and evaluation of programs and issues, the employee is subject only to administrative and policy direction concerning overall project priorities and objectives. What else do I need to know? At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management. Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency managementresponsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites. All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travelrequirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
