SUPERVISORY IT
SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN) in the
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
DEPARTMENT (N6) of the
FLEET WEATHER CENTER
NAVAVNFCSTCEN.You will ensure sound position management and position classification principles and practices are applied when assigning work, structuring and staffing positions, and reorganizing or assuming newresponsibilities.You will develop performance standards for subordinates and assure equity of performance standards and rating techniques developed by subordinates evaluating supervisors, make selections for subordinate supervisory and non-supervisory positions.You will manage, develop, coordinate, implement and maintain a comprehensive Information Technology (IT) program encompassing various areas including automation, telecommunications, Satellite Infrastructure, Program of Record systems, etc.You will ensure IT Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP) are developed, tested, and remain current and effective while ensuring results are forwarded to Operations and Command leadership.You will chair the IT Configuration Control Board (CCB) to enable command mission success through strategic development and implementation of complex IT solutions and services.You will provide briefings, information papers, presentations and proposals to the Commanding Officer and at times, Flag/SES level, on significant developments and plans for IT issues and modernization.You will take corrective action on all unsatisfactory system spot checks and ensure all material deficiencies are promptly reported and ensure configuration management database accurately reflects the required changes.You will monitor the performance of IT programs and projects, evaluate their performance based on applicable performance measurements, and advise the Technical Director on whether to continue, modify, or terminate an IT program or project.You will develop departmental policy and procedures for the implementation of guidance from higher authority and provide advantages and disadvantages of different approaches.
