Supervisory Program Analyst (Informatics)
Veterans Health AdministrationThis position is located at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), VA Medical Center (VAMC) in the Office of Health Informatics (OHI). The incumbent of this position reports to the Chief, Office of Health Informatics and independently carries out assigned duties.Duties include but are not limited to: Evaluates content quality, eliminating redundancy in duplicate data sources, and improving information interoperability across the organization. Conducts market research and evaluates candidate products. Adapts clinical software and emerging technologies to optimize the delivery of care through effectiveeducation and communication. Participates in actions to evaluate, test, and report on errors found when working with systems and applications. Performs observational studies and techniques to see how people interact with devices, products, and systems. Leads meaningful and coordinated use of subject matter experts (SME) to support decision making among informatics functions to optimize the healthcare system and the tools that support the business. Cultivates a healthy working relationship among multiple service lines, allowing for sustainment and optimization of health information technology (IT) solutions and workflows, for the benefit of all staff and patients. Applies statistical (quantitative information derived mathematically), machine learning (use of artificial intelligence to derive knowledge from data to predict outcomes), visualization (representation of data via a chart or other image), inferencing (a way to understand cause-and-effect relationships) and other techniques to enable decision support. Enables healthcare capabilities and the evolution of technology, to deliver quality care, by developing, implementing, and maintaining informatics tools and access to them.
