
Supervisory Security Specialist
National Nuclear Security AdministrationThis position is part of the Y-12 Field Office, Assistant Manager for Safeguards and Security. As the Deputy Assistant Manager for Safeguards and Security, you will manage and oversee the safeguards and security program and cybersecurity program at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.As the Deputy Assistant Manager for Safeguards and Security, you will: Supervise and direct the work of subordinate staff, including planning and assigning work, evaluating performance, providing feedback and supporting staff development. Direct YFO activities at Y-12 facilities which include protection program management, physical security systems, protective force, information protection, personnel security, nuclear material control and accountability, classification, cybersecurity, and the Office of Defense Nuclear Security S&S budget process. Manage aspects of the overall Safeguards & Security program including but not limited to long range policy and programmatic management evaluation; workload and resource planning; program development, implementation, and evaluation; budget; establishment and coordination of special program efforts and projects; and identifying operational needs and reportingrequirements as necessary to attain desired results and ensure that YFO management and the NNSA- Program Office are informed. Serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR), overseeing the management of multiple interdependent aspects of the Management and Operating (M&O) contract that facilitate meeting therequirements of the contracts and for improvement in the overall performance of the contractors. Represent Y-12 in meetings and briefings to senior DOE, NNSA, and contractor management involving the weapons design national laboratories as well as with top officials at other federal, state, and local agencies, institutions, and organizations regarding the safeguards and security programs at Y-12.
