Temporary Finance Manager

Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with an established organisation in Stratford-upon-Avon to recruit a Temporary Finance Manager on an initial three-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension.This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on transactional oversight with process improvement and operational support. Joining during a busy period, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function while helping to drive efficiencies across the team.The key responsibilities will include:Supervising a small transactional finance team comprising Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable staff. Overseeing month-end activities, including reconciliations and payment runs. Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and controls. Identifying process inefficiencies and supporting the implementation of improvements and automation initiatives. Working closely with the Financial Operations Manager to streamline workflows and improve operational effectiveness. Monitoring workloads and proactively highlighting areas requiring additional support or resource. The successful candidate will have:Previous experience within a finance role covering month-end processes, reconciliations and transactional finance. Strong Excel skills, including experience with functions such as VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables. A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with a genuine interest in improving processes. An understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and core accounting principles. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team.
