About the Role
CI&T is looking for a Senior Data Steward to join our Data Governance team and help drive data quality, ownership, and usability across the organization.
This professional will play a key role in establishing and maintaining governance processes, managing metadata, supporting data quality initiatives, and acting as a bridge between business and technical teams to ensure data is properly documented, trusted, and aligned with governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage metadata requests and maintain data documentation and catalog information.
- Act as a business and governance analyst for data-related initiatives.
- Partner with data owners and business stakeholders to define and document data ownership and accountability.
- Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
- Identify data issues and coordinate resolution through the appropriate governance processes.
- Profile datasets and create basic data quality checks and controls.
- Support data-related requests and promote data usability and trust across the organization.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to improve data governance processes and standards.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in Data Governance, Data Stewardship, or Data Management roles.
- Strong understanding of:
- Data Governance frameworks and practices
- Metadata management
- Data Quality principles and controls
- Data ownership and data lifecycle management
- Data contracts and governance policies
- Familiarity with Data Engineering concepts, including data ingestion processes and ETL/ELT.
- Experience or familiarity with Databricks environments.
- Understanding of programming logic and basic knowledge of Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced English (C1 or above), with excellent verbal and written communication skills ( mandatory )
