Abbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.
We are currently recruiting for a brand new Key Account Manager for a national role to join Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Division (ARDx) – Infectious Diseases. This is a role with a national remit across the UK.
As a Key Account Manager you will work across all levels within the NHS, Public Health and Local Authority settings. You will implement national strategies for new and existing products and services, including mapping out and building stakeholder relationships. The role of the Key Account Manager is to ensure Abbott Rapid Diagnostics leads with rapid diagnostic testing within both a primary and secondary care setting and will require managing and influencing a wide variety of stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Development of markets and customers, achieving sales targets, providing general customer service in the various areas of responsibility
- Responsibility for the development and execution of the full Abbott Rdx product portfolio (with a key focus on microbiology and antimicrobial susceptibility testing) within UK.
- Leading and initiating projects or work as part of a project team as required, demonstrate excellent business acumen and strive to meet and exceed agreed financial and strategic objectives
- Building up a strong relationship with all stakeholders in key accounts
- Participating in all sales and marketing meetings as well as all important congresses
- Understanding their sales strategies and transferring the UK marketing campaigns to a regional level
- Ability to articulate issues and business opportunities with relevant customers to secure long term strategic business opportunities
Required Qualifications / Profile
- Experience in Sales and Point of Care / Diagnostics / Lab Industry
- Experience in microbiology and antimicrobial susceptibility testing preferable
- Familiar with laboratory and diagnostic industry practices
- Thorough knowledge of UK healthcare industry, NHS and private healthcare providers
- Consistent track record of achieving profitable growth
- Proven success in complex negotiations and contract delivery
- Strong knowledge of leasing, managed services, and long sales cycles
- Experience driving change initiatives in customer‑focused organisations
- Confident, persuasive communi
