The role
This role sits within the Financial Control team, who are responsible for the month-end close, preparation of financial accounts (to GL level,) and play a key role in the delivery of audits. Reporting into the Finance manager, you will be a newly / nearly qualified accountant with experience in delivering month-end activities such as accruals, prepayments, payroll and performing balance sheet reconciliations.
What excites you
- Preparing monthly journals such as accruals, prepayments, leases and payroll across all entities. Collaborating with other teams, including AP, tax, payroll and management reporting, ensuring smooth end-to-end financial processes.
- Ownership of key balance sheet accounts, ensuring reconciliations are completed monthly and any variances are resolved on a timely basis
- Provide P&L variance analysis and commentary for key cost areas
- Assist with the annual audits in preparation and provide the requested documents
- Preparing VAT returns
- Supporting the Finance Manager / Group Financial Controller as required
What excites us
- ACCA/CIMA/ACA qualified or nearly qualified with several years of industry experience
- Proven experience in a management accountant role
- Intermediate Excel / Google Sheet skills
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving solving and communication skills
- Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts.
- Experience with multi-currency balance sheet reconciliations
- Ability to produce accurate work and consistently deliver to reporting deadlines
- Knowledge of NetSuite or similar accounting packages
- Team player, but ability to work independently
Base salary range: €36,000 - €54,000 (including 13th and 14th salary)
Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the mid-point (€36,000 - €42,000) of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at GoCardless doing similar work.
