Performance Marketing Designer (Freelance)
jetfuel.agencyThis is a performance-driven creative role focused on producing and iterating high-volume paid social assets for DTC brands. While execution is the core responsibility, this role can be expected to actively contribute creative judgment, performance insight, and feedback into campaign strategy in close collaboration with paid media teams.
Creative Production & Optimization
- Produce high-performing static, video, and motion-based ad creatives for paid social (primarily Meta) that align with brand guidelines and campaign objectives
- Design creative variants intentionally (hooks, formats, pacing, layouts) based on performance feedback and testing direction
- Translate briefs into strong visual concepts while identifying gaps, risks, or opportunities within those briefs
- Rapidly iterate on creatives based on performance signals, client feedback, and media team insights
- Maintain creative consistency while adapting messaging and visuals across formats, placements, and funnels
Creative Collaboration & Strategic Contribution
- Partner closely with paid media managers to align creative direction with campaign goals, testing plans, and performance learnings
- Participate in creative reviews and performance discussions, contributing visual and conceptual insights, not just deliverables
- Collaborate with marketers to evolve creative approaches based on what is working across accounts, formats, and audiences
- Join client calls when needed to explain creative decisions, testing rationale, and iteration plan
Operational Expectations (keep, but sharpen)
- Track assigned brand tasks and creative output within ClickUp or similar tools
- Manage multiple creative streams simultaneously while maintaining speed, quality, and consistency
- Handle last-minute revisions when required without compromising core creative quality
- Maintain organized creative files and documentation for internal and client use
- 3–5 years experience producing performance-focused creative in eCommerce, DTC, or paid media environments
- Strong portfolio demonstrating paid social ad creatives with clear performance intent (not just aesthetics)
- Deep proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects, and Figma
- Ability to articulate why a creative works and how it should evolve, not just how it looks
Nice to Have
- Experience collaborating directly with paid media teams or media buyers
- Familiarity with creative performance metrics (CTR, thumb-stop rate, CPA, ROAS)
- Experience using AI or automation tools to accelerate creative workflows
- Light understanding of landing pages or conversion-focused design
