negotiation may be available for those new to Federal service.Administers the day-to-day database operation and maintenance in a complex client server.Ensures the database efficiently collects, stores, and processes large volumes of data.Develops and maintains security procedures to guard against unauthorized intrusions.Prepares technical papers, plans, studies, and other written materials as required.Serves as a technical expert performing feasibility studies which involved application of emerging technology to resolve unique userrequirements.Coordinates and reviews customerrequirements.Analyzes project synopsis to compare alternatives in terms of cost, time, and required equipment and staff.Performs physical database design for Structured Query Language (SQL) databases.Provides high-level technical expertise to accomplish analysis of options and development of the design for advanced database systems software and complex programming specifications.Provides consultation and instruction to functional area users and the application programming community.
