The Litigation team manages Coinbase's litigation risks across the globe. As a Senior Litigation Paralegal, you'll provide advanced support to our regulatory and consumer litigation teams, with a focus on processing civil subpoenas, summons, garnishments, levies, and account freeze requests, while assisting with all aspects of customer arbitrations and threatened litigation.
What you'll do:
- Manage timely and accurate responses to domestic and international subpoenas, summons, levies, liens, bankruptcies, garnishments, letters from counsel, and other civil third-party requests.
- Communicate with opposing counsel and government agencies regarding third-party requests, coordinating with attorneys and litigation team members to ensure accurate and timely resolution.
- Prepare and file litigation and arbitration case pleadings, and provide paralegal support for active litigation and arbitration matters in state and federal court.
- Evaluate and improve litigation internal processes, identifying workflow gaps and implementing operational enhancements to increase team efficiency.
- Support cross-functional legal operations projects such as tool implementations, vendor evaluations, or policy rollouts as priorities arise.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 8+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal, including hands-on management of civil subpoenas, summons, levies, liens, garnishments, and other third-party legal requests at high volume.
- Proven track record preparing and filing pleadings and supporting arbitration and litigation matters in both state and federal court.
- Demonstrated ability to manage 50+ concurrent legal matters across multiple jurisdictions with competing deadlines and zero-defect accuracy in filings and correspondence.
- Familiarity with legal technology platforms for case management, document review, and e-discovery workflows.
- Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
